Celebrating one year since they got their long-term lease, Ormston House presents The Limerick Show. It aims to celebrate Limerick’s artistic community, showcasing thirty-one visual artists, from early career to established practitioners, spanning painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, printmaking and video. Runs until February 19th. More info here

Limerick City Gallery of Art (LCGA) is currently exhibiting Aideen Barry’s solo exhibition, By Slight Ligaments. It includes film, sound, drawing, digital animation and several specially commissioned collaborations with artists, designers and craft workers. It runs until 13th February. More info here

Monday 31st January

The IFI@Belltable series continues with Joel Coen’s The Tragedy of Macbeth. The screening takes place at 5pm and 8pm. Tickets cost €8. More info here. Special school screenings at 10am and 12.30pm with tickets for €6.

Tuesday 1st February

Treaty United play Waterford in the Munster Senior Cup in the Markets Field. Time TBC

Wednesday 2nd February

The Irish Chamber Orchestra (with Director/Violinist Thomas Zehetmair) bring the music of Mozart, Wilson & Bruckner to the University Concert Hall. Starts at 8pm. Tickets €25. More info here

Thursday 3rd February

Jason Byrne, one of Ireland’s most well-known comedians, brings his show On Your Marks, Get Set … Gig! to Dolans Warehouse. Starts 7.30pm. Tickets €25. More info here

Ireland’s top country star, Nathan Carter plays the University Concert Hall at 8pm. Tickets €30. More info here

Friday 4th February

The Castletroy Farmers Market will be held from 10am to 2pm at the Castletroy Town Centre.

The Milk Market is open from 11am to 3pm.

The Wickham Way Food Court will be open 12pm to 10pm

Bell X1 team up with a Dowry Strings to bring their Acoustic-ish show to a SOLD OUT Lime Tree Theatre. If you were one of the lucky ones who got tickets, in you’re in for a great night. Starts at 8pm. More info here

Following their lockdown sketches, Pat Shortt teams up with his daughter Faye to bring their show Well to the University Concert Hall. Starts 8pm. Tickets €30. More info here

Bad Reputation presents IE/DC (an AC/DC Tribute) at 9pm in Dolans Warehouse. Tickets €12. More info

Saturday 5th February

The Milk Market is open from 8am to 3pm.

Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am. Limerick has Parkruns at the UL Boathouse, Mungret Park and The Demense in Newcastle West. All you need to do is register once on parkrun.com to get your barcode and you can show up to any of the events.

The Wickham Way Food Court will be open 10am to 10pm with the stalls selling arts, crafts, etc. from 10am to 3pm.

Meanwhile, Limerick’s newest cocktail bar The Wickham (formerly The Wickham Tap) is teaming up with StreetFoodDoneGood for the Street Food Disco Brunch at 1pm. Expect good food, good drinks, good music and good craic.

Limerick are away to Antrim in the Allianz Football League at 2.30pm.

Ireland open their 2022 Six Nations campaign against Wales at 2.15pm in the Avivia Stadium. Coverage on RTÉ.

Creed Bratton (Grass Roots, The Office) brings an Evening of Music and Comedy to a SOLD OUT Dolans Warehouse. Starts at 8pm. More info here.

Bad Reputation present Worn Out for their first Limerick headline show in the Kasbah Social Club in Dolans at 8pm. They will be launching their new EP Waste on the night. This is a rescheduled event with all previous tickets valid More info here.

PIGTOWN PICK OF THE WEEK The always entertaining Over The Top Wrestling return to Limerick with a show in the Limerick Strand Hotel at 4pm. Featuring Eric Young (Formerly WWE), Session Moth Martina and OTT Champion Matt Haskins. If you’ve never been to an OTT show, you have no idea what you’re missing out on. Tickets €22-30.
