The Pigtown Times is a voluntary project that exists to put the spotlight on the incredible things happening in the city of Limerick. We cover music, theatre, comedy, sports, film, and more. The Pigtown Times was launched in 2014 during Limerick’s City of Culture year. The site was relaunched in July 2020. In 2023 we released our first-ever printed event listing, available in various locations around the city
Meet the Team
Barry Kennedy – Founder/Editor
Barry (or Baz as most people know him) is the founder of Pigtown Times. He set up the Pigtown Times after years of feeling that many cultural events in Limerick weren’t getting enough promotion. So he decided to put his web design and social media skills to use to solve this problem.
When not trawling through the internet looking for events, he works in Tech Support; volunteers with a number of community groups; climbs mountains, and talks about craft beer a lot. He can be found on twitter as @Bazkennedy
