Well, we definitely didn’t think we’d be here so quickly, did we? It looks like Covid restrictions are being lifted. With that in mind, I thought it was a good time to resurrect the Pigtown Listings.
As always, all events and times are subject to change (especially so this week). I’ll try keep this updated throughout the week but please check with individual event organisers for more information. Also, remember that event/venue staff are going to be under a lot of pressure in the coming days – don’t be a gowl and add to the stress.

Celebrating one year since they got their long-term lease, Ormston House presents The Limerick Show. It aims to celebrate Limerick’s artistic community, showcasing thirty-one visual artists, from early career to established practitioners, spanning painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, printmaking and video. Runs until February 19th. More info here
Limerick City Gallery of Art (LCGA) is currently exhibiting Aideen Barry’s solo exhibition, By Slight Ligaments. It includes film, sound, drawing, digital animation and several specially commissioned collaborations with artists, designers and craft workers. It runs until 13th February. More info here
Monday 24th January
The IFI@Belltable series continues with C’Mon C’Mon, staring Joaquin Phoenix. The screening takes place at 5pm. Tickets cost €8. More info here
Tuesday 25th January
Dolans plays host to Robert Burns Night, the annual Limerick celebration of the life and legacy of the legendary Scottish poet with an evening of traditional, poetry and song. There’s even talk of some haggis being served. This is a longstanding event that has now outgrown its traditional home of Bobby Byrne’s and moved to Dolans. Starts at 5pm. Tickets work on a donation basis. More info here
Friday 28th January
The Castletroy Farmers Market will be held from 10am to 2pm at the Castletroy Town Centre.
The Milk Market is open from 11am to 3pm.
The Wickham Way Food Court will be open 12pm to 10pm
ABBAesque, Ireland’s top Abba tribute act, play Dolan’s Warehouse at 8pm. Tickets €20. More info here
RESCHEDULED TO 5TH FEB Bad Reputation present Worn Out for their first Limerick headline show in the Kasbah Social Club in Dolans at 5pm. They will be launching their new EP Waste on the night. More info here.
Saturday 29th January
The Milk Market is open from 8am to 3pm.
Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am. Limerick has Parkruns at the UL Boathouse, Mungret Park and The Demense in Newcastle West. All you need to do is register once on parkrun.com to get your barcode and you can show up to any of the events.
The Wickham Way Food Court will be open 10am to 10pm with the stalls selling arts, crafts, etc. from 10am to 3pm.
Meanwhile, Limerick’s newest cocktail bar The Wickham (formerly The Wickham Tap) is teaming up with StreetFoodDoneGood for the Street Food Disco Brunch at 1pm. Expect good food, good drinks, good music and good craic.
On the Rugby front, there’s plenty of action:
- In Division 1A, Young Munster host Dublin University at Tom Clifford Park at 2.30
- In Division 2A, UL Bohemians play Queens University in UL at 2.30.
- Garryowen, Shannon, Old Cresent and Bruff all play away
- In the Women’s AIL, UL Bohs Women host Blackrock at 5pm in UL

Limerick host Longford in the Allianz Football League at the TUS Gaelic Grounds at 5pm.
PIGTOWN PICK OF THE WEEK The Legendary Jerry Fish plays Dolans Upstairs at 8pm. If you haven’t seen Jerry Fish live before, you’re in for a treat. Tickets €20. More info here
The premier Oasis tribute Roll With It play to a SOLD OUT Dolan’s Warehouse at 8pm.
Limerick’s number one crooner Liam O’Brien will be entertaining guests at the Savoy Hotel as they enjoy a delicious five-course meal. Details/booking here
Sunday 30th January
Britton Outdoors are organising a guided hike up Galtee Mor at 9.30am. Tickets €40. Moderate to good fitness required. More info here.
