Limerick-born artist Diana Copperwhite’s Onomatopoeia Exhibition is in the Limerick City Gallery of Art until Sunday. More info here

An Ancient Land Exhibition by LSAD Student James Wellwood will be on display in the Hunt Museum until Friday 30th June 2023. More info here

The Visions of an Unsettled Earth Exhibition will be on display in the Hunt Museum from Thursday 4th May to Friday 14th July. More info here

The Limerick & District Motor Cycle Club exhibition continues at the People’s Museum in Pery Square. A must-see for anyone interested in bikes.

The Dromcollogher Carnival takes place from Friday 23rd June until Sunday 1st July. There’s music gigs, sporting events, a road race, art exhibition and much, much more. More info here

Monday 19th June

This week’s IFI@Belltable screening is Lakelands (2022) by Robert Higgins & Patrick McGivney. Following a violent attack on a night out, Cian O’Reilly (Éanna Hardwicke), a promising young Gaelic footballer, sustains a life-changing injury. The young farmer, had been happy with his lot: working contentedly alongside his father (Lorcan Cranitch) on the farm, partying with friends, and performing well on the pitch. His world is shattered when the injury forces him off the field, and he struggles to reimagine an identity in the small midlands town where GAA is at the beating heart of the community. Tickets €8. There’s a Tango class at the Record Room (Commercial Bar) from 7:30pm. €10 per class. All levels catered for.

The Republic of Ireland play Gibraltar in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin at 7.45pm as they hope to qualifty for UEFA EURO 2024. Live coverage on RTÉ2 with several pubs around Limerick showing the match.

Tuesday 20th June

Limerick Sports Partnership’s weekly ActiveCities Walking Group is doing the Shannon Fields Walk. Meeting at Clare Street Park at 11am. No need to register. Just turn up and enjoy the walk.

A lecture by David McBurnie – A Celtic Way of Life: Bronze Age Artefacts will take place in the Hunt Museum from 1pm – 2pm. The focus of this talk is the Hunt Collection of artefacts dating from the late Bronze Age. Free admission. More info here

Children from Nicole Sweeney School of Dance invites you to The Greatest Show, an evening of dance song and fun to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. 7pm in the University Concert Hall. Tickets €20. More info here

Women’s Collective Ireland (Limerick) are holding a Summer Solstice Three Bridges Walk. Meet at Arthur’s Quay Park at 6:15pm with tea/coffee after (venue to be confirmed). Email to register

Celebrating over 50 Years of one of rock music’s most influential bands, the UK Pink Floyd Experience comes to UCH at 8pm. Tickets €26. More info here

Saturday 24th June

The Milk Market is open from 8am to 3pm.

The Pig n’Porter Festival is one of the biggest Tag Rugby events in the world. It takes place at Old Crescent RFC and the University of Limerick. Non player tickets still available which also includes access to the legendary PnP afterparty from 8.30pm in Old Crescent with band Springbreak and DJ JJ Hartigan. More info here

Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am. Limerick has Parkruns at the UL Boathouse, Mungret Park and The Demense in Newcastle West. All you need to do is register once on parkrun.com to get your barcode and you can show up to any of the events.

To mark the 30-year anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Ireland, Limerick Pride and the Limerick Narwhals swimming group are hosting the Rainbow Swim from 10am from Curraghgour Boat Club. 80 swimmers will be followed by sailing boats, paddle boats and kayaks in a celebration of Pride on the River Shannon. More info here

Junior Parkrun is a series of free, weekly 2k runs for children aged 4 to 14. The Limerick Junior Parkrun is held every Sunday at 9:30am and Shelbourne Park. You need to register once to get your barcode. More info here

The Limerick Pride Ride (in association with Cycling Ireland) is an LGBTQ+ group cycle starting at the TFI bike station at TUS Moylish Campus at 10am. It’s a leisurely 8km cycle to the UL Pavillion. Goodie Bags for all participants. More info here
