Let’s go Shopping! A History of Retail in Limerick Exhibition will be on display in the Limerick Museum from until Thursday 25th January. The Nights Candles Are Burnt Out: Climate, Culture, Change & Community Exhibition will be on display in The Hunt Museum until Thursday 29th February 2024. The exhibition is co-created by companies involved in alternative energy supply and technology, local communities and contemporary artists interpreting the science and facts, translating the fears and aspirations. Due to popular demand, Seeing without Sight returns for a second run in the Hunt Museum (until 29th February). Seeing without Sight is a multi-sensory exhibition which enables visitors to experience a selection of Hunt Museum objects through tactile displays and audio descriptions. It has been delivered through an inclusive co-creation process with persons with visual impairment and confirms the museum’s commitment to expanding access and inclusion for persons with disability. Monday 22nd January
Candlelight Concerts presents a Tribute to Queen in St Mary’s Cathedral at 6.30pm and 9pm. Tickets from €26. More info here

The Hunt Museum is hosting a Lunchtime Lecture on The Power of Advertising with Lucy Proctor from the ESB Archives. Looking at a selection of print media, film and television commercials from the ESB Archives collection, this talk will explore how advertising was used to influence the Irish public around the benefits of electricity within their daily lives. There’s a Contemporary Dance Class for Adults in Dance Limerick from 6pm to 7.15 pm and running for 7 weeks. These are suitable for both beginners and those with experience in Contemporary Dance. The goal is to help develop your creativity and technique. Through a series of energetic and challenging sequences and varied exercises, you will gain the skills and confidence to dance with ease. The Official Launch of the 2024 Limerick Literary Festival takes place in O’Mahony’s at 5pm. Local author Dan Mooney is the guest speaker. More info here
There’s a Ballet Class for Adults in Dance Limerick from 6pm to 7.15 pm for Beginners and 7.30pm to 8.45pm for Improvers. Running for 7 weeks. Ballet supports fitness, good posture, balance, flexibility, coordination, spatial awareness and rhythm. This class will invite you to try new things in a non-judgmental and safe environment. Saturday 27th January

The Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival continues with three walks at various levels. More info here. The three walks are:
- A: 9am – Galty Horseshoe (14km, 1200m climb, 6 hours) – €25
- B: 10am – Cush and Lake Dineen (13km, 850m climb, 4-5 hours) – €25
- C: 11am – The Millennium Stone (11km, 3-3.5 hours) – €15
Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am. Limerick has Parkruns at the UL Boathouse, Mungret Park and The Demense in Newcastle West. All you need to do is register once on parkrun.com to get your barcode and you can show up to any of the events.
The Designer Minds STEAM Club Spring Term kicks off today at 9.30am – 10.30am, 10.45am – 11.45am and 12pm – 1pm in Room T212, Tara Building, Mary Immaculate College. The club offers a unique opportunity for children in 1st to 6th class to develop confidence in Science, Design, and Technology. More info here

Dance Limerick’s Saturday Dance Clubs for Kids are a fantastic way for our young dancers to keep exploring their creativity, express themselves, make new friends and learn new moves and routines. 10am-10.45am and 11am-11.45am for tots aged 2-4, 12pm-12.45pm for kids aged 5-8 and 1-2 pm for kids aged 9-14.
