Eva International Arts Festival
Kicking off our list is the highly anticipated EVA International Arts Festival. As one of the city’s most celebrated cultural events, EVA transforms Limerick into a vibrant hub of contemporary art. This biennial festival showcases the works of national and international artists, transforming various venues into immersive art spaces. Culture Night
Culture Night is one of our favorite nights of the week. This annual event celebrates Ireland’s artistic and cultural spirit, offering a night of free events, performances, and exhibitions across the city. Immerse yourself in the local art scene as Limerick’s galleries, museums, and cultural institutions open their doors to the public free of charge for one night only. From live music to interactive workshops, Culture Night is a chance to connect with the vibrant creative community of Limerick. We’ll have our own Culture Night preview coming up later this month.

Pigtown Culture and Food Series
Next up is an event we often get confused with. Prepare your taste buds for a delectable journey during the Pigtown Culture and Food Series. This festival showcases the intersection of culture and cuisine that Limerick is famous for. Indulge in a diverse range of food experiences, from artisan markets to themed dinners celebrating the city’s pork heritage. Pigtown promises a feast for the senses, highlighting the rich flavors that make Limerick’s culinary scene truly unique.

Polish Arts Festival
The Polish Arts Festival adds an international flair to the city’s cultural landscape. This festival celebrates the contributions of the Polish community to Limerick’s artistic tapestry. Through a captivating blend of visual art, music, theater, and literature, the festival showcases the creative essence of Polish culture. Join in the festivities and discover the artistic connections between Poland and Limerick.
The highlight of this year’s festival is DAGADANA, a folk band that blends elements of Polish and Ukrainian music. They play in Belltable on Saturday 16th September.

Limerick Jazz Festival
For music enthusiasts, the Limerick Jazz Festival promises a weekend of soulful melodies and toe-tapping rhythms. With performances by local talents and international jazz artists, the festival brings the city alive with the sounds of improvisation and harmony. Get ready to be swept away by the dynamic world of jazz music in the heart of Limerick.
This year’s lineup includes Conor Guilfoyle, the Joe O’Callaghan Quartet, the Honor Heffernan Quartet, the Tim Garland Quintet, Camilla George, and Beverley Beirne. The 2023 Festival concludes with a bumper triple-bill in Dolans on Sunday night featuring the Lee Meehan Quintet, the Nigel Mooney Quartet, and the Nils Kavanagh Trio

Munster Rugby vs Barbarians
While most eyes in the rugby world are firmly focused on the World Cup in France, we have an amazing double header in Thomond Park to look forward to as Munster’s Men’s and Women’s teams take on the Barbarians on September 30th. The Barbarians are an invitational rugby team based in the UK. They are particularly known for playing an exciting, fast-paced style of rugby known as “Champagne Rugby”.
Firstly, Niamh Briggs’ Munster Women take on the Barbarians Women at 2pm. Following on from this, the reigning URC Champions take on the Barbarians’ Men at 4.30pm. This is definitely not a fixture you want to miss.
