Last week saw the re-introduction of some Covid-19 restrictions, it’s likely the next few weeks will be quiet on the event front. However, we’ll still cover the ones that are going ahead. We’ve done our best to confirm if events are still happening but we’d encourage everyone to keep an eye on the website/social media pages on events they wish to attend throughout the week.

A new Limerick Medieval Trail has been launched. This is a collaboration between Limerick.ie, St. Mary’s Cathedral, King John’s Castle, Limerick Civic Trust, Limerick Museum and The Hunt Museum. Check out the map here.

As part of Scairt na hÓige, the Hunt Museum is hosting two free Drawatorium Workshops. Drawatorium is a simple drawing contraption created by local artist Enda Griffin. It allows anybody to create a portrait, even those who believe that they have no drawing skills at all! Workshop One: 10am – 12pm is for 8 to 12 year olds. Meanwhile Foynes Yacht Club is hosting a number of Scairt na hÓige. There are Tours on board the Ilen from 11 am to 5 pm. Music Generation Limerick will be doing a DJ Set from 11.30 am in the Foynes Yacht Club and Songwriting Workshop at 2 pm in the Foynes Community Centre. Pre-booking essential.

Scairt na hÓige’s events in Foynes conclude today with Tours on board the Ilen from 11 am to 5 pm. At 11.30 am you can hear Stories from the Island. William Howard, an artist well versed in the art of sea shanties, will lead those who have booked for 1pm and 2pm Ilen visits, through a Call and Response style sea shanty workshop. Pre-booking essential.
The Longcourt Hotel in Newcastle West is hosting Ireland’s First Virtual Wedding Fair on their Facebook page at 1 pm.
