The Wild Geese Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday (with other events throughout the week). It celebrates Bastille Day, the Flight of the Wild Geese in 1691 and the various connection between Limerick and France. Find out more here
The Visions of an Unsettled Earth Exhibition will be on display in the Hunt Museum from Thursday 4th May to Friday 14th July. More info here
For the month of July, Kilmallock Library is hosting The GAFF’s audio and photographic exhibition Tiny Little Histories, a community-sharing programme that brings untold histories from the Midwest to life. More info here
Painted Poems is a new exhibition at the Hunt Café by Julianne Guinee running from July 4th to August 31st. More info here
Night Paintings, the Limerick City Gallery of Art Summer exhibition runs until the 20th of August. The exhibition includes the work of three Limerick-based artists: Gerry Davis, Paddy Critchley and Stephen Murphy. More info here

The Lime Tree Theatre is hosting a Theatre Skills for Business workshop from 9.30am. The workshop aims to provide the business and commercial sector with a range of structured drama-based training opportunities, which will focus on the development of personal confidence, communication skills and presentations skills. Led by experienced theatre practitioner Georgina Miller. More info here
Limerick Sports Partnership’s weekly ActiveCities Walking Group is doing the King’s Island Bank Walk. Meeting at Clare Street Park at 11am. No need to register. Just turn up and enjoy the walk.

Our PIGTOWN PICK OF THE WEEK this week is the Féile Na Gréine Fundraiser gig in Pharmacia from 9pm. Performances on the night from His Father’s Voice, Roo Honeychild and Unstuck. Saturday 15th July
The Milk Market is open from 8am to 3pm.
Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am. Limerick has Parkruns at the UL Boathouse, Mungret Park and The Demense in Newcastle West. All you need to do is register once on parkrun.com to get your barcode and you can show up to any of the events.
The Wickham Way Market Stalls & Food Court will be open 10am to 3pm.
A one-day Limerick lace workshop for beginners will take place from 10am to 4:30pm in the Limerick Museum. The workshop will be taught by Toni O’Malley and supported by Friends of Lace Limerick. The fees for the workshop are 80€ and a beginners’ lace-making kit will be provided on the day for €30. More info here
The Wild Geese Museum is open in the Old St Munchins Church (near the Castle) from 10am-4pm Saturday & Sunday. It tells the story of the Wild Geese, these Irish soldiers who, since the 17th century, went abroad to serve in the armies of various countries. The museum focuses in particular on the history
of the sieges of Limerick of 1690 and 1691, the Flight of the Wild Geese following the signing of the Treaty of Limerick, and the strong historical links between Ireland and France over the centuries.

The Wild Geese Festival continues with a joyful and colourful procession at 2pm departing from the Wild Geese Museum and going to the United Nations Peace Garden in St Mary’s Cathedral. At 2.30pm in the Peace Garden, a ceremony supported by the Defence Forces will be held to commemorate the Flight of the Wild Geese and the long-standing friendship between Ireland and France.
