All Week (4th-10th November)
Science Week (Thursday 7th – Sunday 17th November) is a week-long event in Ireland each November, celebrating science in our everyday lives. Science Week includes a wide variety of events involving industry, colleges, schools, libraries, teachers, researchers and students throughout Ireland. More info here
Vivienne Bogan’s Spontaneous Self Exhibition is on display in the Limerick City Gallery of Art until 10th November. The exhibition is the first major institutional show by the artist in LCGA. Bogan is a graduate of LSAD and has had an illustrious career with work in several public and private collections nationally and internationally. Free Entry. More info here
Ormston House presents The Sky is Falling!, a group exhibition featuring contributions from Ceara Conway, Seoidín O’Sullivan, Scott Rogers, and Christopher Steenson, on display until the 16th November. Featuring new and existing works, the exhibition is the culmination of several years of research into the corncrake, a species of bird approaching extinction in Ireland and the UK. More info here
Local Artist, Grace O’Brien, is holding a two-month solo exhibition, the Best of Both, in the Hunt Cafe. Her first solo exhibition features 24 paintings of local scenery. Runs from the 1st November to the 31st December. More info here
Monday 4th November
IFI@Belltable presents The Outrun (2024) in the Belltable at 5pm and 8pm. Rona (Saoirse Ronan) has left her fast-paced life in London for Scotland’s far-flung Orkney Islands, hoping the stark change of scene will help in her battle with alcohol addiction, which led to the recent collapse of her relationship with Daynin (Paapa Essiedu). Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am. Limerick has Parkruns at the UL Boathouse, Mungret Park and The Demense in Newcastle West. All you need to do is register once on parkrun.com to get your barcode and you can show up to any of the events.

The UL Fab Lab and WP Engine are teaming up to host Don’t Fear The Repair in the UL City Campus at 2pm. The events are meant to educate the public in the practice of repair, promote the idea of a circular economy, and save some items from landfills. Members of the public may bring their small broken items in and sit with a volunteer repairer to observe and hopefully learn how to conduct repairs on their own. More info here
