A Magical Winter’s Tale
Celebrate Christmas in Limerick with A Magical Winter’s Tale at 7.30pm. With beautifully costumed characters and elegant processional sculptures, LUXe Theatre Company bring their magical, illuminated Christmas procession to Limerick.

Ice Skating
Get your skates on Limerick on Ice. The Ice Rink is open in Arthurs Quay Park from the 15th of November to the 5th of January. Open 3pm to 8pm weekdays and 10am to 8pm at weekends. Kilmmedy Community Development Group are hosting a Meet and Greet with Santa, Mrs Claus and the Elves in Seanie’s Farm, Kilmeedy on Sunday 1st December at 1pm. Kids can write their letter to Santa, see Santa’s workshop in action and make Reindeer food. There will also be Arts & Crafts, the Nativity Scene and some festive treats to enjoy. Crooning at Christmas with Liam O’Brien
Liam O’Brien’s Crooning at Christmas marks its 20th anniversary at Dolan’s Warehouse with two special performances on December 22nd and 23rd at 7.30pm. A festive Limerick tradition since 2004, the show brings holiday classics like White Christmas and Let It Snow to life, featuring Liam’s signature swing style. Supported by the Million Dollar Swing Band and surprise guest performers, this is a must-see for fans of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and holiday cheer. Little Bo Peep
Centre Stage presents Little Bo Peep in the Friars Gate Theatre, Kilmallock from Wednesday 11th to Friday 13th December at 10am and 12pm. Little Bo Peep and her beloved pet Baa-Baa the Black Sheep take care of some very special sheep who give their wool to make Santa’s Christmas Jumper. Every year Bo Peep ,Baa-Baa and their great friend Franz the Farm Boy, take the sheep to the Christmas Fair to be shorn – but the beautiful Queen of Hearts has lost her phone and has turned up to open the Fair too soon. Mother Goose Panto
The Egg-straordinary Specsavers Limerick Panto, Mother Goose, comes to University Concert Hall this December from Thursday 19th December to Sunday 12th January. Poor Mother Goose is struggling to get by on her meagre pension. Her two sons Seamus and Gussie are pretty hopeless at earning money, but they help her on the farm looking after her geese. Mother Goose’s Fairy Godmother sees how hard things are getting and sends her a goose that lays golden eggs. This makes Mother Goose very happy and very rich. But money turns Mother Goose into a different person, and she becomes distracted by the evil Demon Vanity as she goes off seeking a magic elixir to bring her youth and beauty. However, Vanity is just trying to steal Priscilla, the golden goose for themselves. More info here

Christmas in Doon is a festive 3-day event from Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st Decemberin the Doon Community Centre with events going on all weekend. There’s a kids’ Disco, a Cinema Day and a Christmas Fair. More info here
Limerick Santa Cycle 2024
The Limerick Santa Cycle in aid of Monaleen Cancer Support Group takes place on Sunday 1st December at 7pm. The cycle will go from The Hurlers on the Dublin road and route into Limerick city and back out again, via the main gates of the Hospice, to finish at The Hurlers. The cycle is suitable for all and is a fun event. Santa suits and festive lights for the bike will be provided on the night. Finger food and refreshments after the cycle in The Hurlers bar. Over 16’s only. Prizes on the night for those that register early, for the best Santa costumes and also the most lit up bike. Tickets €35. More info here
Limerick Sports Partnership’s Annual Blanket Walk / Run
Limerick Sports Partnership’s Annual Blanket Walk / Run in aid of Local Homeless Charities takes place on Sunday 1st December at 10am at the UL Sport Golden Mile (track around the new pitches). All proceeds will go to very worthwhile local charities St. Vincent de Paul & Thomond House, who do amazing work providing support services for people at risk and homeless in Limerick. This event is open to all the family, where participants can walk, jog or run the distance. The Golden Mile in UL is roughly 2km, so you can run 1 or 2 laps and even add a smaller loop to make up 5km if you like! More info here

Christmas Auto Parade
Santa will lead a light-filled parade of trucks, tractors, cars, bikes and trikes through the city Sunday 15th December at 6pm. This event is to raise funds for the completion of the Ambulance base for The East Limerick Red Cross. Included in the run is an appreciation run for Emergency services agencies in Limerick, Tipperary and Clare. From Christmas lights on tractors to blue lights on fire engines and so much more, this year’s event will delight spectators of all ages. Starting from Northern Trust, City East Plaza. More info here
