The Night Doesn’t Belong To Us Exhibition runs in the People’s Museum from July 15th to 25th. It is a collaborative project led by Eilís Walsh and artists Maria McSweeney and Julie McLoughlin that explores women’s experiences navigating Limerick city after dark. Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland’s Agility Award, the project aims to capture and share diverse stories, fostering dialogue on women’s safety and the need for inclusive urban spaces. PIGTOWN PICK OF THE WEEK Goose Chase Theatre and Weird Gravy Theatre present The Man of Destiny, by George Bernard Shaw in the Belltable at 8pm. The play follows the charismatic figure of Napoleon Bonaparte, brilliantly portrayed by a talented cast. Through Shaw’s signature blend of razor-sharp wit and incisive social commentary, the play delves into the complex psyche of this extraordinary historical figure. Pitting Napoleon, in a hilarious battle of wits, against a spy, an idiot lieutenant, a cowardly innkeeper, and his own ego brought to life on stage in an enthralling theatrical production. Onoir are in Dolans Warehouse at 8pm. Onoir are a modern Irish male folk group who sing harmony-focused songs and musical arrangements. Formed in August of 2020, when four individual, Donegal-based musicians; Tom McHugh, Declan Gaughan, Deane Connaghan, and Diarmaid McGee, joined forces to create a contemporary version of the famous Irish folk ballad; “The Auld Triangle”, the music video for which went on to be seen by over 3 million people worldwide. The Devlins play Dolans Upstairs at 8pm. The Dublin band will release their fifth album in September, continuing an international career spanning three decades. The cinematic atmosphere of their music has attracted many film directors and music supervisors over the years and their songs have been used in numerous international film and tv projects including the Batman Forever soundtrack, several HBO shows including ‘Six Feet Under’ and ’The Sopranos’ and the movie ‘Closer’ to name a few. Katie Boyle is an Irish comedian living in New York City. She brings her show Terapy to Dolans Kasbah at 8pm She performed as a “New Face” in the 2023 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, and was featured in NY Funniest showcase and New York Comedy Festival in 2022. Katie’s debut album and special, I’ll Do It Myself, was released through Pinch Records in summer of 2023. The album hit #1 on iTunes Comedy Charts and is currently available to stream on all major platforms. Her last special, Don’t Tell, premiered last November. Tickets €20. More info here
