Limerick City and County Council is inviting business owners, organisations, residents, visitors, students, and workers to share their insights and experiences of Limerick’s Night Time Economy. The Council has recently launched two comprehensive surveys aimed at understanding and improving Limerick’s night time economy. The surveys are open until Tuesday 17 July.
Scope of the Night Time Economy
The night time economy encompasses all activities occurring between 6pm and 6am. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Culture and Entertainment
- Food and Dining
- Festivals and Events
- Sports and Recreation
- Shopping
- Public Facilities
Their goal is to foster a secure and inviting atmosphere that extends beyond traditional nightlife, making Limerick an attractive destination for all.
Purpose of the Surveys
The purpose of these surveys is to understand the night time economy from two critical viewpoints:
Business Owners and Organisations: We seek input from those who service the community to gain insights into the operational environment and identify areas for improvement and support needed to provide services to consumers and clientele in the evening and night time.
Residents and the Broader Community: We aim to understand the experiences of those who participate in the night time economy and those who do not, so we can determine why and how enhancements can be made to make Limerick’s night time economy more vibrant, safe and inclusive.
The surveys are open until Tuesday 17 July.
Survey Participation and Incentives
As an added incentive, participants of the Public Survey will be entered into a draw to win one of a pool of prizes, kindly donated by local businesses:

By listening to businesses, residents and visitors, we can create an action plan that reflects the true needs and desires of the community. These surveys provide a very important opportunity for anyone with an interest in our city to have their say and to share their insights and experience.”
Night Time Economy Officer at Limerick City and County Council, Ashlene Reyburn adds “Limerick City and County Council is committed to enhancing the quality of life of everyone in the community. Working together, we can transform Limerick’s night time economy into a dynamic environment that offers something for everyone, making our city an even more attractive destination.
