Fleadh by the Feale will take place in Abbeyfeale from Thursday 2nd to Monday 6th with some of the best traditional musicians, dancers, singers and storytellers from all across Ireland & further afield. More info here

The 4th Year BA CATS students at Mary Immaculate College present the Irish premiere of Handle with Care in the Lime Tree Theatre at 5:30pm and 8pm. Handle with Care is a promenade play and explores the life, loves and loss of the character Zoe as the audience literally follows her from late teens to mid-40s through the setting of a storage unit. O’Mahony’s are hosting a Book Signing of The World’s End by Karen Fitzgibbon at 6.30pm. On a beautiful weekend in May, Grace and her friend, Sarah, travel to Castle Cove to stay in the luxurious summerhouse, The World’s End, with Sarah’s boyfriend and some of his friends. After a night of partying and sizzling temptations, they hire a boat and sail to a nearby island. More info here
Pride Dance Project is a contemporary dance project for all LGBTQIA+ identifying people who wish to move their body, chat and meet new friends while learning something new. The next block of workshops are running on Thursdays from 6.30pm to 8pm in the Dance Limerick Studio on the 2nd, 16th and 30th May. €25 in total for one block or alternatively pay per class on the door at €7 per workshop. The Limerick Zine Fest and the LSAD Poetry Society are teaming up for a Poetry Open Mic Night in the Starling artist space on Nicholas St at 7pm. Free event.
The Students of Cistercian College Roscrea return to the University Concert Hall at 7.30pm for their annual end of year concert, Musica Vivit. Featuring the celebrated College choirs and orchestra, soloists and instrumentalists, this concert showcases the wide and varied music tradition of the College. Tickets €15. More info here

Jilly Morgan’s Birthday Party, a new play written by Liam McCarthy and directed by Joan Sheehy, previews in the Belltable at 8pm. Starring Patrick Ryan and Georgina Miller, Jilly Morgan’s Birthday Party is a story of love, longing and obsession, centring on Jack, and his experience of a brief, passionate kiss in the downstairs toilet at a party in Limerick City in 1983. Awaken, a sound installation and album launch featuring a freeform ambient improvisation with Tony Monahan and vocalist Óscar Mascareñas will take place from 3pm – 9pm in Spacecraft Artist Studios. The launch will be both a sound installation and an ambient freeform improvisation featuring myself and vocalist, sound artist, composer and writer, Óscar Mascareñas followed by a drinks reception and discussion. The installation will run from 3pm – 5.30pm and is free to all (no tickets required). The launch at 7pm is a ticketed only event due to limited capacity, book tickets here.

Join MC by Celia Holman Lee and the models of the Holman Lee Agency for FashionFest in Gardens International with a drinks reception at 6pm and a fashion show at 7pm. The fashion show will include some of the best of Limerick’s boutiques and designers. A new addition to the show will be some of the budding fashion students from LSAD offering up their own pieces to be showcased on the catwalk. Kicking off the Riverfest weekend, a giant winged Pegasus will leap straight out of Greek Mythology to strut its stuff along the banks of the River Shannon and through the city streets in a carnival-style parade, not to be missed! The Pegasus will leave Cleeves around 9.30pm before heading onto O’Callaghan Strand on it’s way to Merchant’s Quay. There will be viewing points along O’Callaghan Strand, Francis Street and Merchant’s Quay. More info here

The Friends of the Hunt Museum will be hosting a Cake and Plant Sale and Swap from 11am to 5pm. They will be selling an assortment of delicious home-baked goods as well as a variety of plants. The National All-Ireland BBQ Competition takes place on Howley’s Quay from 12pm to 3pm, where this year’s winner will be crowned by a special ‘guest judge’. More info here
Cars at the Cathedral takes place at St Mary’s Cathedral from 12pm to 4pm and features a unique display of special cars & motorcycles. Exhibits will range from motorbikes of the 1900s to current world record holders, from the first horseless carriages to the latest supercars. Limerick Opera Festival will be on the street for the Limerick On-Street Opera Trail with an amazing operatic duet performing some well loved operatic arias, duets and some old classic favorites. The Opera Trail starts at Colbert Railway Station at 12.30pm before heading to the International Rugby Experience at 1.30pm and Arthurs Quay Shopping Centre at 2.30pm before finishing on Thomas Street at 3.30pm.
