Jim Furlong and Barry Lemasney present their exhibition Dyad in the Friars Gate Theatre, Killmallock until 30th April. Barry Lemasney and Jim Furlong are graduates of The Limerick College of Art and Design. They both graduated with a BA honours degree in Fine Art as mature students. Both achieved a 1st class honour. While Barry and Jim have previously had solo exhibitions of their work, this exhibition will be their first joint venture together. Exhibition viewing is free and all are welcome. Inspiration’s Art Exhibition will be on display at Kilmallock Library from Tuesday 2nd April at 6.30pm until the end of April. A group exhibition of sixteen creative people, each person created a new piece of work inspired by their paired partner. Involved are Craftspeople, Photographers and Writers, Ciorcal Ealaíne Luimnigh (Artistic Circle of Limerick). More info here

The Turning Turns 40 exhibition in the Hunt Museum celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Irish Woodturners Guild (IWG) with a curated exhibition featuring 40 exceptionally turned wood forms that demonstrate excellence in craftsmanship and design. The exhibition runs until May 10th and is free for all to attend. It will then travel to four further venues across Ireland as part of the IWG anniversary celebrations. More info here

There’s a Feohanagh Castlemahon Family Fun Day in aid of Carol Liston O’Connor’s recovery fund taking place in the Coolyroe Sports Complex, Castlemahon (V42 T270) from 1pm to 4pm. Nursery Fun Games & Egg Hunt, Bord na nÓg & Ladies Football Blitzs, Gaelic4Mothers & Other’s Exhibition Game, Community Games, Long Puck-U10s/U12s/U14s, wellie throwing, face painting, inflatable games, and wild encounters zoo. Special guests will include Limerick GAA & LGFA Stars. They will also have an ice-cream van, food truck, a shop and an AG sports stand also available on the day. All welcome. Le Daoine, graduates of the renowned Meitheal Summer School, are performing a Lunchtime Concert at the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance in UL at 1.15pm. The group comprises Mairéad O‘Brien, a master of the fiddle; Iarlaith MacArtáin, a banjo virtuoso; the enchanting harpists Roisin Duffy and Clodagh Moylan; and the melodic prowess of Aoife Dullea on concertina. Together, they harmoniously weave traditional Irish melodies, promising an unforgettable musical experience. Admission is free and all are welcome. More info here

The UL Musical Theatre Society presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in the Belltable at 7.30pm. In this fast-paced, interactive show, six pre-teen contestants from diverse backgrounds compete for spelling supremacy, all while sharing hilarious and heartwarming stories from their lives. The Jacinta O’Brien Memorial 5km County Colours/Jersey Run takes place at the 7.30pm at the UL Sports Arena. Organised by the UL 2nd year Sport and Exercise Science students, the annual event is in memory of Jacinta O’ Brien, a former member of staff of the PESS department at UL. OUT in UL present QueerBash 18: Through The Looking-Glass in the Kasbah Social Club at 9pm. This year marks the 18th Annual QueerBash, a big queer party celebrating all aspects of the community! This year’s theme is “Through the Looking-Glass” so the whole place will be decorated like Wonderland. Storybook – The Songs of Brendan Graham is in the Lime Tree Theatre at 8pm. Sung by Cathy Jordan (Dervish) and accompanied by Feargal Murray (Camille O’Sullivan, Jimmy McCarthy). Storybook is a culmination of Cathy and Feargal working together on Brendan’s songs for 20 years. No One is Coming is a ‘storytelling masterclass’ (To Do List London) about a daughter and mother’s turbulent relationship. Sinéad mixes Irish myths with modern day mammy issues to get to the bottom of what happens when the darkness comes. The Carol O Connor Fundraising Cycle takes place in Broadford. This event has been orgainsed as a fundraiser to help relieve Carol Liston O’ Connor, her husband Liam and their family of some of the financial worries of battling MND, starting from the community hall in Broadford ( P56 D402) you will have the option of a 45k or 90k route to choose from, both cycles depart at 9am sharp and are fully supported with breakdown and broom service, refreshments will be provided at the start and finsh point at the community hall in Broadford for both routes and also midway through the 90k route at the hall in Athea.
