Limerick artist Tom Prendergast’s Not Me, Us Exhibition is in Ormston House until August 19th. More info here
Painted Poems is a new exhibition at the Hunt Café by Julianne Guinee running from July 4th to August 31st. More info here
Night Paintings, the Limerick City Gallery of Art Summer exhibition runs until the 20th of August. The exhibition includes the work of three Limerick-based artists: Gerry Davis, Paddy Critchley and Stephen Murphy. More info here
Ireland and the Birth of Europe Exhibition will be on display at the Hunt Museum until Friday 8th September. Celebrating 50 years since Ireland joined the EEC, this exhibition tells the story of Irish participation in the development of European identities dating to over a thousand years ago. Showcasing items from our medieval collections and the work of the Art of Reading in the Middle Ages, with in-exhibition activities for children. More info here
Limerick Museum is hosting a special exhibition, A Digital Introduction to Irish LGBTQI+ History, featuring videos, photographs and archival collections which tell the stories of LGBTI+ people in Ireland and the growth of the Irish LGBTI+ rights movement. More info here
National Heritage Week runs from the 12th-20th August with 100s of events taking place arcoss the City and County. More info here
Tuesday 8th August
Park Life is an engaging physical activity session catering to adults over 55. Taking place every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am in Shelbourne Park. More info here
Limerick Sports Partnership’s weekly ActiveCities Walking Group is doing the UL North Campus Walk. Meeting at the The Pavilion at 11am. No need to register. Just turn up and enjoy the walk.

Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am. Limerick has Parkruns at the UL Boathouse, Mungret Park, and The Demense in Newcastle West. All you need to do is register once on parkrun.com to get your barcode and you can show up to any of the events.
The Annual 10K Paddle down the River Shannon in aid of Rape Crisis Midwest takes place today. The entry fee is €40 for those renting a kayak/equipment and €20 for those who bring their own kayak. Participants will start from the Shannon Rowing Club in Annacotty and make their way down the River Shannon into Limerick City. This event is open to beginners, with full equipment and instructions provided. This event is organised in conjunction with Canoeing Ireland and Limerick Kayaking Academy. More info here

Sunrise Social Limerick are organising a cycling trip along the Limerick Greenway from 10am. Meet in Rathkeale where there is a special Greenway car park with toilets. Here you can hire bikes from Limerick Greenway bike hire and cycle 13kms on a mainly flat route to Newcastle West where they will be grabbing a coffee before heading back.

The Deel Animal Rescue Summer Family Fun Day will take place from 12pm – 3pm at the Ash Hill B&B in Kilmallock. On the day there will be Kids Yoga, Garden Games, Magic Show, Face Painting, Arts & Crafts, Craft Stalls, Food and Coffee trucks, a Raffle and split the Pot. 100% of the proceeds will go to Deel Animal Rescue. All dogs are welcome on leads and some of our rescue dogs will be there. Adult tickets €5 while Kids go free. More info here
Junior Parkrun is a series of free, weekly 2k runs for children aged 4 to 14. The Limerick Junior Parkrun is held every Sunday at 9:30am and Shelbourne Park. You need to register once to get your barcode. More info here
