All Week

The Made of Earth Exhibition continues at the Hunt Museum until 6th April. Made of Earth explores the story of clay and ceramics; how they have impacted civilisation and how civilisation has developed through their use. More info here.

LCGA is hosting three exhibitions. The first exhibition is by artist Brian Fay entitled The Most Recent Forever. The second is by Caroline Dunne entitled Objects of Memories. The third is a collection kindly loaned to the Gallery from the private collection of Maire & Maurice Foley. All exhibitions will run until Sunday. More info here

Monday 6th February (BANK HOLIDAY)

It’s your last chance to see Aoife Cawley’s The Land of Saints and Glamour Exhibition in King Johns Castle. More info here

Mary I Charity Week kicks off from 8.30pm with a County Colours Night in Dolans with Live Music from Bad Penny plus guests. Tickets €10. More info here

Tuesday 7th February

Limerick Sports Partnership’s weekly ActiveCities Walking Group is doing the Shannon Fields Walk. Meeting at the Clare Street Park at 11am. No need to register. Just turn up and enjoy the walk.

Meanwhile, the West Limerick Weekly Walk is exploring the Castle Demesne in Newcastlewest. Meeting at 11am in the at the car park at the entrance to the Demense (Entrance by Newcastlewest Community Centre). If you wish to come along please phone 061 333 600 or email [email protected]

The Limerick 1st Tuesdays Group is hosting its monthly social networking for business people event in the Hunt Museum from 5pm. February’s speaker is Karl Daly of Moore Financial. More info here

There’s an Irish Dancing Class in the Record Room (downstairs in the Commercial Bar) from 7pm-8pm. Cost €10. Followed by the Tintéan Sessions take place in the Commercial Bar from 9 pm.

Mary I Charity Week continues with Live Music from Bad Penny & DJ Saunders in Mollys from 7pm

Wednesday 8th February

As part of the What Next Festival, Francis Footwork will play at the Belltable at 4pm and 6pm. This is a 180° virtual reality presentation. The perfomance was filmed live at The Ark Children’s Cultural Centre. Footage was captured by the two eyes of a 180º stereoscopic camera in the middle of the theatre’s front row, allowing you to feel like you are in the front row too, watching the performance in 3D with the help of a VR headset. It’s Salsa Wednesday in the Record Room (Commercial Bar) from 7.30pm until late. Evening classes followed by Latin Social.

It’s Drink & Draw night at Crew Brewing at 8pm.

Bridge Classes for Beginners will start this Wednesday at 8pm in Monument Bridge Centre, Roxboro Road, Limerick. Classes will run for 8 to 10 weeks. Contact Paul on 086 820 2728 for more information.#

Today FM star, comedian and mindfulness expert Dermot Whelan brings his MIND FULL show to the University Concert Hall Limerick for a unique stress-busting show. Tickets €35. More info here

The Irish National Opera presents Don Pasquale in the Lime Tree Theatre at 8pm. A screwball comedy of comeuppance that pits age, money and power against agile youth and deception. It tells the story of a love triangle featuring Don Pasquale, a grumpy old bachelor, Ernesto, his good-looking young heir and Norina, an attractive young widow. Tickets €30/€27. More info here

PIGTOWN PICK OF THE WEEK LSAD LGBTQ+ Society’s Runway to Drag Show returns to the Wickham Way from 6.30pm. Tickets €20 with all proceeds from the show going to GOSHH and TENI. The People’s Theatre Company presents I Spy With My Little Eye in the Belltable. Based on the picture book by Steven Lee, the Ultimate Sing Along, Solve Along kids show comes to Belltable! Saturday 11th February

The Milk Market is open from 8am to 3pm.

Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9.30am. Limerick has Parkruns at the UL Boathouse, Mungret Park and The Demense in Newcastle West. All you need to do is register once on parkrun.com to get your barcode and you can show up to any of the events.

The Wickham Way will be open 10am to 3pm with the stalls selling arts, crafts, etc. from 10am to 3pm.

Only two Limerick clubs are in action in Senior Club Rugby. In AIL Rugby, Old Cresent are away to Ballymena at 12.30pm in Divison 2B. Meanwhile, UL Bohemians are away to Suttonians at 12.30pm in the AIL Women’s Cup.

The Six Nations continues today with 2 games. Ireland host France in the Aviva at 2.15pm. Live Coverage on RTÉ. That’s followed by Scotland vs Wales at 4.45pm. Live on Virgin. Lots of pubs around the city will be screening the games live.

As part of the What Next Dance Festival, A Dance by Magda Hylak takes part in the Thomas Street Car Park at 3pm. A Dance is a site-specific, non-story based and improvised performance, which invites the audience to a new form of ritual made from repetition, high physicality, loudness, sound glitches and noises.
