Shifting: A Group Exhibition By Guest Curator Mary Doyle Burke, is on display in the Limerick Museum until 30th April. This exhibition showcases multidisciplinary work by prominent Irish female artists: Aideen Barry, Bernadette Kiely, Louise Cherry, Cecilia Bullo, Pauline O’Connell and Ellen Martin-Friel. This body of work brings together artists whose practices span a wide range of mediums from painting, drawing and sculpture to installation works, performative art and print-making. More info here
The Panoramic Wheel is back in the Potato Market from Friday 25th April to Monday 5th May, running from 12pm to 9pm daily.Soar above the city and take in the stunning 360-degree views across Limerick’s skyline on the spectacular 36 metre panoramic wheel. More info here
URBANESQUE by Mike Byrne is on display in the Limerick City Gallery of Art until 11th May. Mike’s work is a continuous exploration of form and colour. He builds soft clay slabs into shapes that express the material’s malleability, and contrast that with sharp edges and severe cuts incised into the solid block forms. The surface patina is built up using multiple layers of coloured engobes and dry glaze. Each piece is fired numerous times until the desired depth of surface colour and texture is reached. Cut From The Same Cloth is on display in the Hunt Museum until 29th May. Arising from an art and health research collaboration the exhibition Cut From The Same Cloth centres around the fabric of our lives. A handwoven tapestry documents a unique community of members of local minority communities and biomedical researchers. Lorna Donlon is a tapestry weaver who merges the ancient art of weaving with scientific concepts. With a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from the UCD School of Biology and Environmental Science, she creatively bridges art and science through tapestry and installations inspired by the scientific practices of categorising and labelling nature. BOW is a celebration of the individual pursuit of ideas, on display in the Limerick City Gallery of Art until June 8th. The exhibition is interested in how art resonates, soothes, and chimes with our common experience of life and living. The show includes Limerick native, and award-winning artist Stephanie Deady. Cork based Sarah O’Brien, who works from her studio near Kinsale. Dublin based Richard Proffitt with a studio in Balbriggan, and Fionna Murray who lives and works in Galway City. More info here
An Ciúnas/The Silence by Marianne Keating is on display in the Limerick City Gallery of Art until June 8th. Marianne Keating is a London-based Irish artist and researcher whose practice examines intersecting and overlooked narratives of Irish emigration to the Caribbean, particularly Jamaica, where the Irish were recruited as a new labour force after the abolition of enslavement. Keating’s multidisciplinary film installations combine a range of archival materials, found footage, newly shot footage, text, and sound. More info here

The Limerick Wellbeing Series takes place at the Barnagh Greenway Hub at 11am. The Limerick Wellbeing Series isn’t just about being active, it’s about creating connections, embracing the outdoors, and discovering simple ways to boost your physical and mental wellbeing. There’s a 5km/10km run/walk, an Easter egg hunt, face painting, kids’ entertainment, yoga sessions, breathwork and much, much more. Each event is designed to bring people of all ages and abilities together in a fun, relaxed environment. On an ill-fated night, love goes terribly wrong for Bella Wanderlust and Walter Bridges. Bella, the famous travel blogger, was found dead during a ghost tour led by the theatrical Percy Shadows. Ahern Nurseries and Plant Centre in Kilmallock is hosting Little Green Thumbs at 9.30am and 12pm. Combining the two things that kids love to do most, painting and getting their hands dirty. Mary Immaculate College (MIC) alumna from Brazil, Carol Pereira, will sign copies of her new book, Limerick Beyond Time, when it is launched at MIC Limerick from 4pm to 6pm.Honorary Consul of Brazil in Limerick, Leticía Bastos, will host a Q&A session with Carol, about why she wrote this book based on her time in Limerick and at MIC. The new Ambassador of Brazil, H.E. Mr Flávio Helmold Macieira and his wife, Mrs Josiane Cotrim Macieira will also attend the event. More info here
DMARC is proud to present The Garden of Earthly Delights, the final major composition from noted composer Trevor Wishart, in Dance Limerick at 7pm. The Garden of Earthly Delights re-envisions Hieronymus Bosch’s phantasmagorical painting as a multichannel sonic wonder. Wishart is a recipient of the Golden NICA award for computer music at the Linz Ars Electronica. The Wire magazine heralds him as “a pioneer of sonic art.” This unique concert also showcases Limerick’s important contributions to electronic and electroacoustic music. Tickets €10/5. More info here

Lyngo Theatre presents The Little Prince in the Belltable at 11.30am and 2pm. The Little Prince is here to remind us that real truth is invisible to the eyes in Lyngo’s new collaboration with Norwich Puppet Theatre. Through mesmerising puppetry and beautiful original music the boy who fell to earth teaches his friend the Aviator about love, life and real happiness in this adaptation of one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, The Little Prince. Seoda Shows presents Vraell in Dolans Upstairs at 8pm. Alessio Scozzaro is a classically trained musician who’s been releasing music as Vraell since 2019, slowly building up an audience for his ethereal sounds. Taking inspiration from classical guitar musicians such as Gustavo Santaolalla and contemporary acts like Sufjan Stevens, Scozzaro’s songwriting explores hefty, personal themes, carefully transforming these topics into emotive remedies. The Lime Tree Theatre presents An Evening with Michael Harding at 8pm as he walks the Camino and talks to his father. To mark his 70th birthday, Michael took a holiday in Spain, walking a short part of the Camino de Santiago in the early summer of 2024. But as he set off on this pilgrimage, Harding wasn’t alone. Accompanying him was his father, who passed away when Michael was just twenty-two. A man who was distant and aloof, but who had a profound effect on the writer’s life.
